Happy Sunday!! Exciting news just came out, an updated paperback version of Courtiers will be released on July 6th. The release date looks to be only in the UK, but no worries! We will review and summarize it here. In preparation for that, today we have six gems from the original Courtiers which focus on current events we are seeing now. Details, surprising background, giving color and context to what’s happening today in the royal family. Things that will surprise you, confirm what you already suspected, or leave you shaking your head, yes.

  • Melissa Touabti, Meghan’s personal assistant of just six months, resigned from her position. She was the second member of their staff to leave since Meghan had joined the royal family. Touabti’s background included working for A list British celebrities. In an official statement released by the palace, and agreed to by Touabti, it stated, “Melissa is a hugely talented person.” Adding, “She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.” A week later, the Sunday Mirror released a story citing how abusive Touabti felt her job had become. “She put up with quite a lot. Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended up with her in tears…. Melissa is a total professional and fantastic at her job, but things came to a head and it was easier for them both to go their separate ways,” sources shared with the Sunday Mirror.

Palace sources told Low that their clashes centered on the free “gifts” companies would send to Meghan, that were arriving near daily. “Clothes, jewelry, candles… it was absolutely non-stop,” a source said. Touabti was exact in following the rule that royal family members cannot accept gifts from commercial organizations, which made Meghan furious.
