Happy Sunday!! Are we all feeling excited as the new year stretches out ahead of us? Time to plan and organize, get cozy as we are in deep winter, but look ahead to spring? I’ve always loved January.
This week has been a terrible royal watching week for me. Ugh. At least to me, the answers to all of this seem obvious and clear, but the decisions continue to be weak. And honestly, no one has faith any longer in the assurances being given, because the actions aren’t matching the words. Andrew doesn’t have the right or power to cause all this destruction. Stop giving it to him. Enough.
In our last newsletter, we discussed how kicking Harry and Meghan out of Frogmore signified a turning point for the Royal Family. It was a significant move that changed the public narrative and showed the Royal Family standing up for themselves.
This is what must be done with Andrew and Sarah. The family must create a physical distance from them, which shows the public that both of their actions are not supported by the Royal Family. Enough. For family occasions, discretion must be the watchword. No parading them in front of the public, discrete entrances and exits, no photographs. Do you remember seeing Camilla’s family at the Sandringham Christmas? It was the first year they all attended, children, grandchildren, extended family, all were there. Very big press about it, leading up to the holiday. Much to my surprise, I never saw one picture of them there. But yes, they still attended. Extremely wise handling of the situation. It can be done if there’s a will and that’s the goal.
Andrew and Harry also need to be removed as Counsellors of State. I remember some commenting when more royals were added to the list instead of simply removing Andrew and Harry, that it was an “elegant” solution. I never viewed it as such. These two individuals have caused serious damage to the reputation of the monarchy and the UK. Worrying about their feelings needs to stop, they have given no consideration to the feelings of others. This is a very minor repercussion in light of what they truly deserve. For the security of the monarchy and the UK, they need to be removed.
I think it’s important to remember the historical facts, to give us a deeper understanding of how we got here. In 2011, the Queen’s Private Secretary, Lord Geidt, had Andrew removed as the UK trade envoy specifically because of his relationship with Epstein. Andrew was furious. Being the trade envoy was a tremendous source of power and money for Andrew. He was able to fly around the world on the government’s dime, using the UK as a calling card for business, investments, development, etc. If you wanted business with the UK, many times, you had to make Andrew happy. After multiple warnings, Geidt could not get Andrew to cease his relationship with Epstein and he feared what would become of it. He was right.
Charles had his own issues with Geidt, who was interfering with Charles’ plans to slowly absorb more of the Queen’s power before he took the throne. Together, Charles and Andrew had Geidt ousted.
Interestingly, Geidt also served as the mediator many times between Charles and the boys.
