In a few days William and Kate will celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary. Getty.
Happy Sunday!! I am so excited about this upcoming week ahead for royal watching. On Tuesday, William and Kate start a mini, two-day tour in Scotland where they will go by their Scottish titles, Duke and Duchess of Rothesay. Tuesday, April 29th, of course marks William and Kate’s 14th wedding anniversary. This tour has them returning to Scotland, where they fell in love as college students at the University of St. Andrews. With Kate being sick last year and everything that involved, I think this is such a special way to mark their anniversary, and very generous of them to include the public.
Also, this is a great example of why we should trust William and Kate as they work to balance their family life and duties. There were some rumblings about them missing Easter this year and even attacks because they didn’t appear to attend Easter church service. However, the truth came out a day or two later. The Wales family had indeed attended the local parish service, just incognito with Carole and Michael Middleton. This, to me, was an example of William and Kate making their own path while trying to balance it all, including staying away from Andrew. I don’t particularly need William and Kate to follow the path of prior royal generations for every step. I think there’s a balance they hit quite well, between tradition, serving their country, and bringing in modern ideas and causes.
